The professionalisation of thoroughbred horse breeding – is it desirable?
Too many cooks spoil the broth!
Not everyone, nor every member of a company, can claim to be ‘professionally competent’ as a concept.
Every ‘sector’ needs a manager who takes responsibility.
Interference across ‘sectors’ is taboo – an unwritten law that, based on certain beliefs, prohibits certain actions and requires respect for moral, conventional and social boundaries.
The legislator demands greater professionalism in thoroughbred horse breeding!
Being professional means practising an activity as a profession and expertly staffing the ‘sectors’ of responsibility with specialists: team building; the selection of individuals who can demonstrate the necessary expertise to achieve a specific goal and implement a specific project as a team.
Implementing measures aimed at improving cooperation within the team.
The umbrella organisation Haflinger-Pentagon Sàrl-GmbH is committed to optimising and shaping team-building; its task is to identify the most favourable approach for a specific objective.
Qualification – proof of competence in team-building – corresponds, within the sector, to economic success: the confirmation of its effectiveness and the receipt of the trophy for success.
The establishment of an umbrella organisation comprising the original studbook-keeping organisations for the ‘Haflinger’ breed, with the HPT 2021 breeding programme, which includes all breeding sections, sections and studbook registration options for the offspring – is to be welcomed, not hindered. This ensures that each foal in the breed section is issued with a lifetime number (UHLN), the Universal Haflinger Lifetime Number based on the UELN system (Universal Equine Life Number), and that each ‘section’ – is to be welcomed, not hindered.
Haflinger-Pentagon Sàrl-GmbH
On its own, the umbrella organisation Haflinger-Pentagon Sàrl-GmbH is strong – but together, united with the other two Swiss horse breeds, we would make even more progress!
For months now, we have been awaiting the contestable regulation threatened and demanded of us by Mr Christian Stricker of the BLW’s Animal Breeding Division!
